The Porto Sul port complex will be built and operated by BAMIN, in a partnership with the Government of Bahia. With an investment of BRL 4 billion, the project has all environmental licenses. The implementation work has already started and is in its initial phase.
Through Porto Sul, a port terminal with a capacity of up to 42 million tons, BAMIN will export its production to the international market, making 50 percent of the port's total capacity available for other cargoes as well - such as grain, fertilizers, fuels, and other mineral goods. It should become the first port in the Northeast to receive ships with a capacity of up to 220 thousand tons.
