THE PORTO
SUL PROJECT

Porto Sul will be completed in 2027 and will be able to receive ships with a capacity of up to 250 thousand tons.

The construction of the Porto Sul forms a key tenet of BAMIN’s integrated logistics activities and will become on of the main import-export points in the region. The completion of a bridge connecting the BA-001 highway to the future industrial area of the port has advanced the access works and we expect that the port will enter operation in 2027, with a terminal physically and technologically structured to accommodate ships of up to 250 thousand tons.

Although is the project is still under construction, BAMIN has already implemented, and continues to improve the socio-environmental management governing the venture, creating rigorous safety processes aligned with international ESG standards. The South Port already encompasses 34 programs, 11 of which address social issues and 21 of which serve to protect the environment. Among these actions, the CETRAS – Wild Animal Screening and Rehabilitation Center of the Porto Sul – built in 2018, has secured recognition for its important work monitoring and conserving wild flora and fauna.

The integrated logistics of Porto Sul with FIOL will ship a good part of the production throughout Brazil.
