Bamin Against Coronavirus

Initiatives to fight the Coronavirus are priorities for BAMIN

We contribute to the protection and maintenance of public health and the local economy, always prioritizing the quality of life of local populations and our employees

BAMIN works closely with its employees and the communities in the regions where it operates. The business has contributed to our collective fight against Covid-19 through the donation of safety and protection items to health units in municipalities, as well as cloth masks and basic PPE kits for the population. Moreover, as a strategy to strengthen the local economy, we work to use local suppliers when selecting donated items.

In March 2021, BAMIN donated more than BRL 1 million to supply 32 ventilators, equipping health units in Bahia. This donation was made at one of the most critical moments of the pandemic, when the state’s health system was under incredible pressure, and our work contributed to the provision of much-needed new ICU beds. The State directed five ventilators to hospitals in Caetité and five to Ilhéus (ten to the region in which BAMIN operates).

Measures for our employees

We stand together in our efforts to contain the Coronavirus in Brazil and the rest of the world, and we have adopted all possible preventive measures in our workplaces. See some below:

  • Internal campaign with information booklets and distribution of prevention kits;
  • Implementation of home office work and online meetings;
  • Travel restrictions and cancellation of attendance at external events;
  • Imposition of quarantine for employees who traveled for work or leisure and release to resume activities only after verification by the occupational physician;
  • Adoption of all prevention protocols for on-site employees;
  • Periodic testing for 100% of employees and service providers.

We know that mental health must also be considered during the quarantine period. For this reason, we hold live talks with specialist professionals addressing topics such as motivation in distance work and emotional health in times of instability, as well as promoting online relaxation events for employees and their families.

BAMIN believes that, together, we can overcome this pandemic. With action, information and prevention, we can take care of ourselves and others.
